Reel People feat. Sharlene Hector - "The Rain" (Rasmus Faber Remix) [2005]

This is a House Record of Note

Mr Faber joins us on the mix here, fresh from notoreity after his "Get Over Here" record, which was remixed by Axwell and featured on this site not too long ago. I guess this is his chance to prove that his production skills are up there too. Great tune this, reminds me of the early days of House.

And I'm talking about when house was born. In the den of Mr Larry Levan, in the lost days of New York's Paradise Garage - this tune has all the elements of disco funk that underpinned the era. The produciton is right up to date, but the feel of the record, the narrative, the flow, well it's from way back in the day.

Got to say I love it - featuring renowned vocalist Sharlene Hector, who featured in the recent Coca-Cola advertising campaign and has sung with Basement Jaxx, the Reel People have got a solid dance floor tune here. Signed to Defected, and also available with Joey Negro on the mix, this is credible, upfront and I'm backing it all the way.

You can get a copy from DJ Download for £1.49.
