Eurythmics - "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" (Steve Angello Remix) [2005]

This is a House Record of Note

With one of the finest bass lines written for the dance floor and one of House music's current favourite producers marrying up to produce a 2005 cut of this masterpiece of 80's electro you know you won't be disappointed. With flourishes and accents and only the slightest guiding hand Steve Angello teases a storming remix from this famous track. Making it shorter, punchier and just rearranging the structure slightly, he simply redelivers a masterwork.

Anyone who is a fan of the original may scoff at the similarity, but that is the beauty. By not doing anything too different and just letting the track breathe he allows us to enjoy it all over again. The new hardware and software in use and the production standards that exist in House music today serve remakes well - we get a good track re-engineered and ready to gel and mix with the new sounds that Steve and the rest of the Swedish House Mafia (Axwell, Ingrosso, Prydz) and their ilk are throwing at us. They own the 2005 dancefloor.

On first play I had people exclaiming and asking for more - and so I implore you to pick this up. It appears as a B-side to the new "I've Got a Life" single release, which is a good tune as well (especially the bass-heavy David Guetta & Jaochim Garraud remix). Find it and own it.

Out of stock at time of publishing, but check the details on Juno. You can probably track it down in your local store.
