dirtySi's Tunes of Note

A stunning and beautiful work from a new trance producer, Mike Foyle, a young lad with some great potential. Using an original piano riff from Dave Schonauer, this record is all about the haunting beauty of the melody.

It's a distinctly touching piano based trance composition aided by the American house/trance crossover artists Signalrunners. They were championed by the top DJs recently for their anthemic "3000 Miles Away". This collaboration tune is a great follow up, and will stay with you for a long time. It's immediacy is in the scaling notes and the sound field generated by the progressive bassline. Mike Foyle's remix is my pick, it lets the piano carry the tune, whereas the Signalrunner's Sunrise mix is too much about adding interest via the bassline. One layer too many on that mix, but a good complement. The purity of the Mike mix is trademark, and the nod to the love for the repeating hook in the title of his remix is satisfying.
